Welcome to Jeff's 2011 NCAA Basketball Pool webpage! You must have your entry and $5 to jeff@blanchets.com by noon Thursday March 17th.  You can mail your payment to the following address: 101 Breckinridge Ct., Newport, KY. Be sure to include your entry names that you are paying for. If you work at Makino or have a contact at Makino, Tom McClain is collecting the fees for me.

You can enter an alias as your name but you must provide a valid email address. You may enter as many times as you wish, just use a different name when creating another entry. (The same email address can be used on multiple entries.) Friends and family are all welcome to participate. If you would like to change/delete an entry, submit a new entry and send an email to jeff@blanchets.com indicating which entry you would like deleted.

Points
The top three point totals will win a share of the pot. You receive points by picking which teams you think will win. If you pick a team to win in the first round and they win, you receive 1 point, in the second round 2 points, third round 5 points, fourth 8 points, fifth 11 points, and champion 15 points. Make sure you pick a winner for all the games including the champion.

NO points are awarded for the extra game played Tuesday night. The winner of this game will play the number 1 seed, and you can select the winner to beat the number 1 seed if you so choose.

 
Prizes
1st place winner will receive 60% of the pot.
2nd place winner will receive 30% of the pot.
3rd place winner will receive 10% of the pot.
In case of a tie, money is split among those tied. If you find errors in the scoring, please let me know.
 
NOTE

There are 5 "system" entries that you will see in the standings. These "system" entries are NOT eligilbe to win. They are there purely for the amusement of the participants. Below is a list of the "system" entries:

  • Top Seeds - All the better seeds win each game.
  • Sagarin Ratings - Based on the Sagarin ratings found in the USA Today newspaper.
  • RPI Ratings - Based on the RPI Ratings
  • Consensus Picks - Based on all user entries in the Makino Pool.
  • Weighted Coin Flip - Based on flipping a coin to determine a winner (ie 16 seed must win 16 coin flips before the 1 seed wins 1 coin flip. Repeated for each game based on seed).
